[Event post at LetsBanFracking.org] (http://www.letsbanfracking.org/index.php/events/event/1099-belleville-van-buren-township-hall-township-meeting-regarding-radioactive-waste) From the [Detroit Free Press Aug 25th article] (http://www.freep.com/article/20140825/NEWS06/308250180/Michigan-radioactive-waste-fracking) A Van Buren Township hazardous-waste landfill operator, slated to receive up to 36 tons of low-level radioactive waste from a Pennsylvania fracking company, announced Monday that it will suspend receipt of such materials from all oil and gas operations pending a review by the state. EQ, a USEcology company, made its determination as Gov. Rick Snyder announced plans to form a panel of experts to look at Michigan’s standards for disposing of low-level radioactive waste. EQ has accepted the waste — known as technologically enhanced, naturally occurring radioactive materials, or TENORM — from Michigan and other states at its Wayne Disposal landfill, located between Willow Run Airport and I-94 near Belleville. “We look forward to supporting this important review,” Simon Bell, EQ executive vice president of operations, said in a statement. “We take pride in our proven ability as one of the few companies with the expertise to safely manage this material.”

Let us speak the truth from a place that is so centered in unity that the other resonates with this deepest truth. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. (Cash bar. Casual dress. Photography is allowed.) Capacity: 135 people (so please get there early! Its first-come first-serve!) Gregory A. Fournier was born in Detroit on October 31st, 1948 and worked at Zug Island in the 1960's. Greg attended Allen Park High School and received his B.S. and M.A. at Eastern Michigan University. Greg now lives in San Diego, California. Greg is almost finished with another book that he has been researching for a few years, the chilling never-before-told true crime tale of alleged Michigan serial killer JOHN NORMAN COLLINS. Collins is doing life in Marquette Prison without the possibility of parole and is thought to have been involved in the sex slayings of seven young women from 1967-1969 in Washtenaw County, Michigan and California. Greg's blog Fornology http://Fornology.blogspot.com Zug Island books will be for sale at the event. You may also purchase them at Amazon In December 2013, Greg appeared on the true crime series A Crime to Remember on the I.D. Investigation Discovery Channel in an episode entitle “A New Kind of Monster” about the John Norman Collins case. http://www.amazon.com/A-New-Kind-Monster-HD/dp/B00H8AJ3T4 The Book Club of Detroit was founded in 1957 and is an excellent group for Detroit-area bibliophiles.
